This is a great questions, and you alone aren’t the only person that has these types of questions! In an industry such as human hair, where the barrier to entry is very low, businesses need to find out the best ways to differentiate themselves amongst the mass amount of competition. I come from a background where both of my parents were hairstylist and they owned their own human hair in Houston, TX. Most of their challenges were marketing to customers in a way that was different than the other Hair Salons in the area. Everybody know’s that Groupon, Yelp, DemandForce, Living social, etc. are ways of advertising to customers.

The problems with this is that, one everybody uses this form of advertising so you end up competing with other salons not only in the human hair space, but the marketing space as well. Two, they can take a big chunk of your earnings as you may already know. While they may be good for attracting customers, the cost in the end may not be worth it. These are some keys I’ve found that work well in marketing your Hair Salon.
